Concept and Safety Objectives

The Kloop project was created to address the critical need for safety in shared urban micro-mobility, which is often compromised by the difficult coexistence with vehicular traffic. The goal of the redesign was to bridge the gap between bicycles and motor vehicles by hybridizing traditional bike design with functional solutions typical of mopeds. This approach aims to provide the cyclist with a more authoritative and noticeable presence on the road, drastically reducing the risks associated with poor visibility and the communication of maneuvers.

Technical Details and Innovations

The technical intervention introduced an ecosystem of active safety devices. The handlebar integrates ergonomic turn signals and an upgraded horn loud enough to be heard by car drivers, replacing the traditional bell. The lighting system has been completely overhauled: it features an automotive-style high-beam headlight for night vision and a smart taillight that actively signals braking. These implementations transform the bicycle into a vehicle capable of interacting effectively and safely with the flow of urban traffic.
